Box Score FREDERICK, Md. - Stevenson women's basketball junior Daniela Poss (Brookeville/Good Counsel) totaled her first career double double with 17 points and a career-high 11 rebounds as the Mustangs won their second-straight CAC road game with a 55-40 victory over Hood Saturday at Fort Detrick's Odom Fitness Center.
Stevenson (3-18, 2-11 CAC) allowed a season-low 40 points, limiting the Blazers to a 21.4 field goal percentage while forcing 26 turnovers.
The Mustangs never trailed after opening the game on a 7-0 run over the first 3:39. They pushed the lead to as many as 11 before taking a 26-20 lead at halftime. Poss scored all 17 of her points in the first half on 7-of-11 shooting while adding five rebounds and two steals.
Senior Kristen Steiner (Forest Hill/Fallston) added five points, six rebounds and five assists.
Stevenson also opened the second half on a 7-0 run and led by as many as 18 en route to its second win in the last three games.
Steiner finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds for her sixth double double this season and fourth in the last six contests. Over that span, she is averaging 12.8 points and 11.2 rebounds.
Senior JaQuelia Conley (Columbia/Montrose Christian) totaled nine second half points while senior Meliasa Robinson (Fort Washington/Potomac) had a season-high seven, one short of her career-high.
Sophomore Sam Murray (Reisterstown/St. Paul's) did not score for the first time in 21 games this season, but did grab a career-high eight rebounds for the second consecutive game.
The Mustangs scored 23 of their 55 points from the free throw line where they had a season-high 41 attempts. The team's 23 made free throws were second only to the 24 it had at Salisbury on Monday when it was 24-of-31.
Allyson Lethbridge led the Blazers (7-13, 2-11 CAC) with 12 points and seven rebounds. Briana White had seven points and seven rebounds while Dyanna Prater had eight points and seven steals.
Stevenson travels to York (Pa.) on Wednesday. Game time is at 6:00 p.m.
