Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson women's volleyball senior Brooke Gilley (Bel Air/C. Milton Wright) totaled eight kills and a season-high eight digs while senior Jamie Krens (Owings Mills/Franklin) posted a career-high 12 digs as the Mustangs swept Lancaster Bible Tuesday at Owings Mills Gymnasium, 25-16, 26-24, 25-13.
Stevenson (27-2) won its 15th-straight game which ties the school record set by the 2008 team that started the season 15-0. It was also the team's 27 victory of the season, four short of the school record also set in 2008 when the team went 31-8.
Senior Alexa Carney (Towson/Towson) totaled seven kills and 17 digs while senior Jen Glock (Westminster/Westminster) had six kills and five blocks. Senior Amy Rudolph (North East/Rising Sun) totaled two kills, a season-high 34 assists and nine digs. Senior Kristin Steinnagel (Eldersburg/Liberty) also had two kills.
The Mustangs ran their home record to 10-2 by totaling 39 kills, 39 assists and 63 digs. In addition to Carney and Krens, junior Avery Gabbard (Arnold/Broadneck) also had double digits in digs with 11 to go along with eight kills.
In the third set, Stevenson totaled 11 kills with just one error while posting a .303 hitting percentage as they never trailed in improving its record to 21-0 in three-set games.
Meanwhile, the Chargers (12-16) were led by eight kills and 14 digs from Lauren Heliger. As a team, Lancaster Bible totaled 22 attack errors and only 20 kills while committing nine reception errors.
The Mustangs, who are the No. 2 seed in the CAC Volleyball Championship which begins on Tuesday, November 1, wrap up conference play on Thursday when they host Wesley beginning at 7:00 p.m.
