York (Pa.) Rallies on the Road for 64-60 Victory Over Women's Basketball

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Brittany Percich hit the second of two free throws with four seconds remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime where Aja Wallpher and Madeline Sloan combined for seven of the Spartans' 10 points as York (Pa.) rallied for a 64-60 CAC road victory Wednesday at Owings Mills Gymnasium.

Stevenson (1-14, 0-8 CAC) took its largest lead of the game at five points, 50-45 with 8:57 remaining in the second half following a free throw by sophomore Sam Murray (Reisterstown/St. Paul's).

However, the Spartans took a 53-52 lead with 4:55 left after an 8-2 run and both teams traded baskets until senior Kristen Steiner (Forest Hill/Fallston) gave the Mustangs a one-point lead at 57-56 with 43 seconds to play before Percich hit one of two free throws to send the game into overtime.

In the extra period, York went 2-of-5 from the floor and 3-of-5 from the free throw line while holding the Mutangs to one three-pointer.

Wednesday marked the third overtime contest for Stevenson this season, all of which have come against conference opponents at home. The Mustangs are 0-3 in those contests with losses to Salisbury, St. Mary's (Md.) and York.

Percich finished the game with 10 points off the bench while Sloan totaled all three of her points in overtime to lead the Spartans (8-8, 5-3 CAC) to their second-straight win. Kristen Haley totaled 15 points and 11 rebounds while Wallpher had eight points, four rebounds and three assists.

Murray led Stevenson with 17 points and seven rebounds, both career-highs. She led four Mustangs in double figures as sophomore Rayshell Parker (Hanover/Meade) totaled 10 points and 11 rebounds while Steiner had 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists to move past junior Amanda Craig (Wilmington, Del./St. Elizabeth) for fifth on the school's career assists list with 135.

Senior JaQuelia Conley (Columbia/Montrose Christian) added 11 points.

Stevenson hosts a non-conference contest with Alvernia on Monday, January 24 at 6:00 p.m.
