VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Stevenson field hockey
senior Katelyn Manocheh
(Timonium/Maryvale Prep) and sophomore Kaitlyn May
(Arnold/Archbishop Spalding) each scored twice as the
Mustangs outscored Virginia Wesleyan 4-1 in the second half en
route to a 6-4 come-from-behind victory Saturday at the National
Training Center.
The Mustangs (4-1) rallied from a 3-2 halftime deficit to post
their second road win of the 2010 season.
Three of Stevenson's four second half goals came in a span of
only 8:14 from 26:53 to 18:39.
Sophomore Kelsi Zimmerman
(Odenton/Arundel) earned her first collegiate win, making
five second half saves in relief of her sister, senior Kara Zimmerman
(Odenton/Arundel), who also had five stops in 35 minutes
in the first half.
Kelsi went 0-2 with a 3.94 goals against average and a .710
saves percentage for Division II Limestone last season.
Stevenson will face No. 12 Christopher Newport at the National
Training Center on Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m.
