Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Stevenson men's basketball team rallied from an 11-point deficit with 3:38 remaining, finishing the game on a 17-0 run behind seven points from senior Greg Woody (Baltimore/Mount St. Joseph) to post a 70-64 victory over Salisbury Tuesday night at Owings Mills Gymnasium in the CAC opener for both teams.
Woody finished with a game-high 21 points to go along with seven rebounds, five assists and five steals while sophomore Brett Burrier (Westminster/Winters Mill) had 19 points as the Mustangs (3-2, 1-0 CAC) posted their third win in the last four games and second in-a-row at home.
A layup by Salisbury's Mike Maczko gave the Sea Gulls (2-2, 0-1 CAC) a 64-53 lead with 3:38 remaining before two free throws from Woody, a steal and layup by Burrier and three-pointers from Woody, sophomore Andrew Bishop (Lothian/Southern) and sophomore Laron Knight (Waldorf/Thomas Stone) gave Stevenson its first lead since the 5:20 mark of the first half.
Knight's three-pointer with 30 seconds remaining that gave the Mustangs the lead for good at 66-64 was his only basket of the game as he finished 1-for-2 with both attempts coming from three-point range. He also finished with three assists and two rebounds.
Chris McGrew totaled 16 points and seven rebounds for Salisbury while Maczko had nine points, nine rebounds, three assists and five steals.
Stevenson returns to action on Saturday with a non-conference contest at Roanoke.
