FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Stevenson field hockey senior Kara Zimmerman (Odenton/Arundel) made a season-high 18 saves while senior Katelyn Manocheh (Timonium/Maryvale Prep) scored her 10th goal of the season to highlight the Mustangs' 4-2 season-ending loss at Mary Washington Sunday in the first round of the CAC Field Hockey Championship.

Stevenson (9-11) finishes the season with nine wins, the second-most for a single-season in school history while making its third consecutive appearance in the conference tournament.

The nine wins for first-year head coach Erika Blozie are also the most for a first year head coach in program history.

Senior Natalie DiPaolo (Baltimore/Perry Hall) also had one defensive save and finishes her career with 33, one shy of the school record held by Kristi Oppliger.

Mary Washington (12-7) scored the game's first three goals to take a 3-0 lead with MacKenzie Sloan scoring the eventual game-winning goal with 27:22 remaining in the second half.

The goal was the first of three in less than five minutes as the Mustangs got on the board with 23:49 left when freshman Leigh Willing (Princess Anne/Holly Grove Christian) scored off an assist from senior Jennifer Sauers (Baltimore/Perry Hall) on a penalty corner.

However, Mary Washington quickly regained the momentum as Kaitlyn Ripley scored her second goal of the game just 57 seconds later to push the Eagle lead back to three, 4-1.

Manocheh picked up her 10th goal of the season and the 27th of her career with just under 20 minutes to play to provide the final margin. She finishes her final season with 10 goals and 25 points, both team and career-highs.

The Eagles held a 25-6 edge in shots and an 13-4 margin in penalty corners. Zimmerman totaled 13 of her 18 saves in the second half and finishes her four-year career with a school record 555.
