Box Score 2 COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Stevenson women's volleyball team snapped a two-game losing streak on Saturday with back-to-back sweeps in a tri-match at Ursinus, posting a 25-11, 25-18, 25-19 victory over Rowan and a 25-14, 25-19, 25-20 win against the Bears at Helfferich Hall.
The Mustangs (22-6) posted their 18th and 19th straight-set victories of the season and are now 19-4 in three-set games this year.
In the opener against Rowan, senior Alex Mercer (Eldersburg/Liberty) led the way with 12 kills and a .409 hitting percentage. She also had four total blocks.
As a team, Stevenson totaled a .267 hitting percentage with 42 kills and only 14 errors. Sophomore Avery Gabbard (Arnold/Broadneck) had nine kills, a .400 percentage and eight digs while junior Brooke Gilley (Bel Air/C. Milton Wright) tied her season-high with six kills and had a .429 hitting percentage with no errors in 14 attempts.
Sophomore Kristen Lubeski (Bishopville/Stephen Decatur) had four kills with a .300 percentage and junior Alexa Carney (Towson/Towson) had eight kills. Junior Amy Rudolph (North East/Rising Sun) also had eight assists to go along with 15 assists.
Katie Havlicek had nine kills for the Profs (14-10) while Lauren Ruffalo had 16 digs.
Mercer added 14 more kills and four block assists versus Ursinus as the Mustangs posted 20 total blocks. Gabbard had 11 kills, nine digs and four total blocks while freshman Jessica Gieselman (Westminster/Winters Mill) totaled eight kills, 15 assists, two service aces and seven digs.
Junior Jen Glock (Westminster/Westminster) added two kills and a season-high six total blocks. Carney totaled a team-high 16 digs and Rudolph had 16 assists and seven digs.
Mary Kate Wilmoth, Anahi McIntyre and Kristin Hanratty each had five kills for the Bears (10-15) and Gabriella Galleo had a team-high 16 digs.
Stevenson wraps up its four-game road trip at Notre Dame (Md.) on Tuesday.
