STEVENSON, Md. - Stevenson women's basketball junior guard JaQuelia Conley (Columbia/Montrose Christian) scored a career-high 23 points, her third game in the last five with a career-high, to help the Mustangs snap a six-game losing streak with a 69-55 CAC victory over Hood Saturday at Student Union Gymnasium.

The win also snapped a three-game skid for Stevenson (2-7, 1-2 CAC) at home and was its fourth in five meetings versus Hood since joining the CAC prior to the 2007-08 season.

For Conley, she has averaged 16.4 points over her last five games while posting career-highs of 17, 17 and 23 points. She nearly eclipsed her career-high in the first half where she totaled 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including 3-of-3 from three-point range.

Stevenson led 28-24 at halftime and Conley was the only starter to score in the opening half as the other 14 points came off the bench, led by six from freshman guard Vanessa Rice (Oxon Hill/National Christian Academy).

The first half featured two ties and five lead changes, the last of which came on a jumper by sophomore forward Katelyne Briggs (Wilmington, Del./Padua Academy) with 5:40 remaining to give the Mustangs a 21-20 advantage.

Stevenson opened the second half on a 15-4 run to take a 15-point lead at 43-28 with 15:35 remaining before expanding its margin to as many a 20.

Conley was the lone Mustang to score in double figures while five players all finished with six points each, including freshman forward Brittany Bryant (Frederick/Tuscarora) who also added seven rebounds and two blocks.

Junior forward Kristen Steiner (Fallston/Fallston) had five points, a game-high eight rebounds, four blocks and five steals.

Dryanna Prater had 17 points to lead Hood (2-6, 0-3 CAC) while Allyson Lethbridge and Jennifer Willison added 15 and 11, respectively.

Stevenson Stevenson continues its five-game homestand on Sunday when it hosts a non-conference contest with Carnegie Mellon at 2:00 p.m.
