(Arnold/Broadneck) totaled a game-high eight kills while
sophomore Amy Rudolph (North East/Rising Sun)
had 25 assists as Stevenson opened the 2009 season with a
25-13, 25-17, 25-14 win over Notre Dame (Md.) Tuesday night at the

Division III South Region Championship.
Rudolph, who is looking to replace All-CAC Second

team's starting setter, also added three kills and six digs.
Stevenson went on a 12-3 run to close out the first set before
Notre Dame led 15-11 in the second. However, led by two service
aces from Gabbard, the Mustangs responded with a 10-0 run en route
to an eight-point victory.
With Stevenson lead 10-9 in the third, the team again rallied to
score 10 of the next 12 points to take a 20-11 lead before
completing the sweep.
The Mustangs extended their winning streak over
the Gators to five.
Gabbard finished with six service aces to go with her eight
kills while senior Marisa Bender (Hagerstown/South
Hagerstown) had six kills in her first match back since
2007 after missing the 2008 season due to injury.
Notre Dame (0-1) posted a minus-.035 hitting percentage, but was
led by Christina Kudrna who had 14 assists and three
blocks. Ebony Rivers totaled a team-high six kills.
Stevenson travels to local rival McDaniel on Thursday night for
