BALTIMORE, Md. - Senior Alana Eller
(Ellicott City/Centennial) totaled 10 kills and eight digs
to lead the Stevenson University women's volleyball team to a
25-15, 25-15, 25-17 victory over Notre Dame (Md.) Thursday night at
the MBK Complex.
The Mustangs (27-6) posted their fifth-straight win and 27th
this season, three shy of becoming the first team in school history
to post 30 wins in a season.
In addition to Eller's 10 kills, sophomore Dani
Katsampis (New Windsor/Francis Scott Key) added nine
and sophomore Alex Mercer
(Eldersburg/Liberty) had seven as the trio totaled 26 of
the team's 30 kills.
Mercer also added five total blocks.
Junior Brittany Umetin (Havre de Grace/Mt.
Zion) totaled 24 assists, four service aces and a
team-high 10 digs while senior Julie Olson (Spofford,
N.H./Keene) had eight digs.
For the Gators (12-9), Kim Myers broke the school record for
kills in a career on the Gators third point of the third
game. She finished the game with nine, surpassing the old
record of 1,129.
Stevenson will host a quad match with John Jay, Rowan and Penn
State-Berks at Student Union Gymnasium on Saturday before hosting a
CAC Volleyball Championship quarterfinal match with York (Pa.) next
Tuesday, November 4.
