Box score

TOWSON, Md. - Megan Smith had 24 kills and Kasey Quinn totaled 25 digs to lead Goucher to a 22-25, 25-21, 25-22, 23-25, 15-4 victory over the Stevenson University women's volleyball team Tuesay night at the Sports & Recreation Center.

For the second-straight match, errors hurt the Mustangs (22-6) who totaled 29 attack errors, nine service errors and eight ball handling errors.

The loss was the fourth in the last six matches for Stevenson who has averaged over 26 errors in its six losses this season compared to only 15 in its 22 wins.

Earlier this season, the Mustangs handed Goucher a 3-1 loss at home on September 13.

Six players had at least one attack error against the Gophers (15-14), four of which had at least five. Five had at least one service error and four had at least one ball handling error.

After four tightly contested sets in which Stevenson won the first before battling back to tie the game at 2-2, Goucher assumed control in the fifth set, jumping out to a 7-0 lead en route to the 15-4 game-clinching victory.

The win allowed the Gophers to finish undefeated at home this season, posting a 5-0 record. It also extended their home winning streak against non-conference opponents to 12.

Mustang senior Alana Eller (Ellicott City/Centennial) led the team with eight kills while sophomore Dani Katsampis (New Windsor/Francis Scott Key) and freshman Paige Norvell (Newark, Del./St. Elizabeth) each had seven.

Eller also totaled a season-high 23 digs to lead three players in double figures as junior Brittany Umetin (Havre de Grace/Mt. Zion) added 13 and freshman Amy Rudolph (Northeast/Rising Sun) had 11.

Umetin also had 15 assists with Rudolph contributing nine.

Claire Sauvage-Mar had 45 assists and 18 digs for Goucher who totaled 52 kills and 102 digs as a team.

Stevenson returns to action this Saturday, hosting a quad match with Philadelphia Biblical, Ursinus and Albright.
