Box Score 2 Chestertown, MD- The Mustangs traveled to Washington
College to play in a tri-match with Washington and Catholic.
In the first match of the day, the Mustangs were defeated 3-2
(30-21, 25-30, 21-30, 30-24, 7-15) by Washington College.
Marissa Bender (Hagerstown, MD/S. Hagerstown)
and Alana Eller (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial)
each had double-doubles. Bender had a team-high 14
kills, and added 17 digs. Eller had a match-best
21 digs, to go with her 11 kills. Alex Mercer (Eldersburg,
MD/Liberty) chipped in with 13 kills, while Julie
Olson (Keen, NH/Spofford) had 17 digs.
In the middle match, Catholic swept Villa Julie in three games
(28-30, 26-30, 23-30). Nassib had 15 kills and 15 digs to lead the
Cardinals in the victory. For the Mustangs, Danielle
Katsampis (New Windsor, MD/Francis Scott Key) had a
match-high 16 kills.
At the end of the day, the Mustangs' record fell to 12-6.
The Mustangs are back at home on Tuesday, October 2, to take on the
Salisbury Seagulls at 7pm.
