Box Score Fredericksburg, VA. - Villa Julie was
shutout for the third time in four games as the Mustangs fell 2-0
to the University of Mary Washington in Capital Athletic Conference
field hockey on Saturday. Villa was only able to muster a pair of
shots in the loss, its fourth in as many outings. The game marked
the first meeting between the two schools.
The Eagles tallied second-half goals 22 seconds apart for all of
the game's offense. Jaci Marshall set up
Sarah Healy for the icebreaker at 46:24. That was
hastily followed by an Amy Santella goal, assisted
by Healy.
Villa's Kaitlin Brzozowski (Bel Air, MD /
Fallston) recorded 14 saves on a busy afternoon of work. Her
opponents fired 21 shots in her direction. Katherine
Brown needed only one save to complete the shutout at the
other end.
With the loss, Villa Julie falls to 3-7 (0-3 CAC), while Mary
Washington moves to 8-2 (4-1 CAC). The Mustangs will look to end
the skid on Wednesday at Frostburg State.
