Lancaster, PA.- The Mustangs opened their
season with two straight wins in the Lancaster Bible College
tri-match. VJ defeated Cedar Crest in the first match
3-1. The game scores were 30-27, 30-12, 29-31, and
30-27. Freshman, Marisa Bender(Hagerstown, MD/ South
Hagerstown High) had 19 aces to power the Mustangs, along with
Katie Benham's (Rising Sun, MD/ Rising Sun High) 18 kills.
The Mustangs kept the momentum going in their second match
versus Lancaster Bible. The Mustangs destroyed the Chargers
3-0. The game scores were 30-9, 30-12, and 30-3.
Marissa Bender (Hagerstown, MD/ South Hagerstown High) led the team
with 12 kills and sophomore and Jessica Smiley (Baltimore, MD/
Kenwood High) had six aces to guide the Mustangs.
The Mustangs are now 2-0 and will be back in
action Thursday, September 7 at College of Notre Dame at 7:00
pm.
