Stevenson, MD.- The Mustangs outplayed the
Raptors 71-17 in today's match-up. The game opened up with
Bard's Elyse Rivas sinking a lay-up within 50 seconds of the
game. Villa answered with a steal by Cara
Hill (Oxon Hill , MD / Oxon Hill) and a lay-up by
Tonia Cristino (Lancaster , MD / Hempfield).
Villa went up by 35 points to end the half 41-6 ahead of
Bard.
The Raptors came back to score 11 points in the second half, but
it wasn't enough to beat the Mustangs. Junior,
Tanisha Foster (Baltimore , MD / St. Frances
Acad.) had a double-double scoring 18 points and 11 boards, senior
Kim Hutchinson (St. Leonard, MD / Potuxent) had 14
points, and senior captain, Cara Hill had seven
rebounds, six assists, and four points.
Hill was acknowledged before the game by Coach
Ramer for scoring 1,000 career points during their game
against Franklin & Marshall, on November 19, and was
presented with two game balls.
With the win, the Mustangs are 2-3 overall and 1-0 in the North
Eastern Athletic Conference. The will be traveling
tomorrow to take on Frostburg State.
