The Mustangs dominated the Raptors 95-60 this
afternoon. At the beginning of the game, the lead was
exchanged multiple times until the Mustangs pulled ahead 25-15 with
a free-throw by senior captain, Steve Segears
(Lanham , MD / St. Johns College High School ) at 13:05. From
that point on, the Raptors never regained the lead. At 7:45,
the Mustangs extended the gap to 32-20 after two free-throws by
Jason Lambert (Bloomfield , CT / Kingswood
Oxford). At half-time Villa Julie was ahead 53-26.
In the second half, the Mustangs opened up the half with a 17
point run. They went up by as much as 42 points off of a
jumper by Vincent "Cory" Johnson (Baltimore , MD /
Southern) at 10:42. The day ended with a double-double by
Steve Segears with 21 points and 12 boards.
Lambert had 11 points and Elysian
Richardson (Hartford , CT / Suffield Academy ) had three
steals.
The Mustang's win today marked the 100th career win
for Coach Brett Adams. This is Coach Adams'
13th season as Head Coach. Last year he made Villa
Julie history by leading earning them their first NCAA playoff bid
with a 20-9 record.
Currently, the Mustangs are 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the
NEAC. They return to the court on Tuesday to take on Chestnut
Hill at 8 pm.
