Gates Wins First Career Race, Mustangs Take Shannon Henretty Invite

STEVENSON, Md. - Junior Emily Gates picked up her first career victory with a 6k time of 24:06.12 at the Shannon Henretty Invitational, held on the Greenspring Campus Course. The Mustangs took the team title after securing the first eight spots in the individual standings. 

Senior Kelly Winklbauer was the second Mustang and individual to cross the line, finishing the course in 24:27.81.

Freshman Peyton Arbour picked up third overall in her first collegiate 6k, finishing with a solid time of 24:46.36.

Sophomore Mikhayla Sabo ran 25:41.61 to take fourth, while senior Achol Odolla turned in a time of 25:52.37 to complete the team score for Stevenson.

Freshman Mary Gorman and Abby Lizewski made their 6k debuts with times of 25:57.76 and 26:02.01, respectively.

The Mustangs run next at the Elizabethtown Short Course Invite, held at the Union Canal Tunnel Park, on Friday, September 20 at 6:30 p.m.
