Swanhart Sets School Record in 800, Mustangs Finish Eighth at MAC Championships

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. - Stevenson women's track and field junior Lanie Swanhart set another school record in the 800m run with a time 2:23.26 to take fourth place in the event at the MAC Outdoor Championships, hosted by Messiah. The Mustangs finished in eighth place as a team with 30 points.

In the 4x400m relay, Swanhart teamed up with seniors Monee Hill, Josephine Adutwum and freshman Destiny Watts to take sixth place overall and set another school record with a combined time of 4:17.67.

In the 200m dash, Hill set a new school record in the event with a time of 26.25 seconds, finishing sixth overall. Hill and TaKera Smalley ran personal best times of 12.72 and 12.81 in the 100m dash to take sixth and eighth overall.

In the 5k, freshman Brittany Appleby set a new school record and finished seventh place overall with a time of 19:25.50, while Adutwum took the eighth and final spot on the podium in the 400m dash with a time of 1:01.20.

Freshman Monica Pozuc set another school mark in the discus with a toss of 29.56m, but just missed the podium with a ninth place finish.

Misericordia took the women's team title with 205 points.

The Mustangs compete next at the Don Webster Invitational, hosted by Coppin State on Friday, May 9th.
