BALTIMORE, Md. - Stevenson women's track and field senior Christyna Falden and junior Sherrie Wallace took third and fourth place overall, respectively, in the shot put in leading the Mustangs to a ninth place finish at the Hopkins/Loyola Invitational.
Falden's throw of 10.63 meters set a new school record while Wallace's throw of 10.53 meters was a personal best.
Freshman Monica Pozuc had a personal-best discus throw of 25.72 meters to take eighth overall in the event.
Also earning points for the Mustangs was the 4x100m relay team of seniors Josephine Adutwum, Monee Hill, Falden and freshman Destiny Watts whose time of 50.61 seconds was good enough for fifth place overall.
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, sophomore Claudia Lohr broke her own school record and took fourth place overall with a time of 13:08.17.
In other distance events, junior Lanie Swanhart clocked a 2:29.80 in the 800 while freshman Brittany Appleby ran the 1,500 in 5:15.77, setting a new school record and qualifying for the MAC Outdoor Championships.
The Mustangs also set a new school record in the 4x400-meter relay when Adutwum, Hill, Swanhart and Watts crossed the line in 4:32.28.
Adutwum ran a personal-best in the 400-meter dash, crossing the line in 1:03.49 while also taking ninth in the 200 with a 27.35 seconds.
In the 100-meter dash, Falden took 11th place overall with a personal-best time of 13.22 seconds.
Hopkins took first place in the team standings with 133 points.
The Mustangs compete next Friday, April 17 at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
