LEWISBURG, Pa. - Senior Allison Bishop broke her own school in the weight throw with a top toss of 16.12 meters, which gave her fourth overall and first place among DIII athletes on the final day of the Bison Open & Multi meet, hosted by Bucknell. Bishop has the top performance in both the MAC and Mideast region, and is currently ranked 14th in Division III.
Junior Kimberly Hammond took second overall and first among collegiate athletes in the long jump with a top leap of 5.56 meters. Sophomore Jordan Mitchell would finish ninth with a top jump of 5.16 meters, which was just .04 meters off her personal best. Hammond would also finish tied for fifth in the 60m dash finals, crossing the line in 8.14 seconds.
Freshman Mikhayla Sabo clocked a personal best in the mile with a time of 5:29.73. Sabo's time is currently fifth best in the MAC.
Freshman Ashlynne Raby ran a 1:04.26 in the 400 to finish tied for 18th out of 39 Division I, II and III athletes.
The Mustangs, who are currently ranked fourth in the Mideast Region, will head to Ursinus on Saturday, February 2 to compete in the Frank Colden Invitational.
