Mustangs Put on Stellar Performance at Dutchmen Invite

ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Stevenson women's indoor track and field team put on an impressive performance at the Dutchmen Invitational, hosted by Lebanon Valley. The Mustangs took home first place in four events.

Junior Kimberly Hammond took first overall in the long jump with a leap of 5.60 meters. Hammond's leap is currently ranked fifth in all of Division III. Jordan Mitchell's leap of 5.20 meters gave her third overall and a spot into the ECAC Indoor Championships.

Hammond would also take second in the 55 meter dash finals with a personal-best time of 7.57.

Senior Jess Rega won the shot put with an impressive toss of 12.68 meters, which puts her at second in the Mideast region and 14th in Division III. Senior Lauren Dioses took fourth in the shot put with throw of 11.02 meters.

Senior Allison Bishop picked up a victory in the weight throw with a top distance of 14.78 meters, which places her at second in the region. Dioses took second with a 14.07 (third in region), while Rega took third with a 14.02 (seventh in region).

Sophomore Rachel Panek won the 55 meter hurdles with a personal best time of 8.94 seconds. Panek would also take second in the high jump with a height of 1.50 meters. 

The Mustangs compete next at the two-day Bison Open & Multi meet, hosted by Bucknell University, starting on Friday, January 25.
