Dioses Sets School Record, Qualifies for ECAC's in Weight Throw at Diplomat Open

LANCASTER, Pa. - Junior Lauren Dioses set a new school record in the weight throw at the season-opening Diplomat Open, hosted by Franklin and Marshall. Dioses' throw of 14.34m gave her fourth-place overall in the event and also earned her a spot into this season's ECAC Indoor Championships. 

Junior Allison Bishop missed out on qualifying for ECAC's by just .01 meters with a toss of 14.04 meters, which gave her fifth place. Junior Jess Rega had a personal-best toss of 13.57m to finish eighth.  Rega would also finish third in the shot put with an ECAC-qualifying throw of 13.07 meters. 

Freshman Rachel Panek opened up her collegiate career with a 9.68 in the 60m hurdles, giving her seventh overall and a spot into the ECAC's. 

Freshman Shayri Perez clocked an 8.27 in the 60m dash to take 11th, while sophomore Chalisse Lockley crossed the line in 8.42 to finish 17th overall.

Sophomore Achol Odolla ran a personal-best time of 11:14.12 in the 3000 to take ninth overall. 

Freshman Shanika Royal clocked a 27.95 in the 200 to take 14th place. 

The Mustangs compete next in the Coach I Open, hosted by Franklin and Marshall, on Saturday, January 13 at 10:00 am.
