ITHACA, N.Y. - Stevenson women's track and field freshmen Danika Ani and Cierra Roberts finished second overall in their respective events at the ECAC Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Ithaca College.
Ani took second place overall in the shot put with a top toss of 13.06 meters. Sophomore Jess Rega finished seventh overall with a throw of 12.15 meters.
Ani currently has the ninth best throw (13.82m) in all of Division III and is currently in line to compete in next week's NCAA Division III Championships.
Roberts placed second in the long jump with a school-record leap of 5.69 meters. Roberts, who is currently tied for 13th overall in Division III, is also in position to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
Ani and Roberts' second-place finishes were also the highest in any event at an ECAC Championship in women's program history.
The 4x200m relay team of Roberts, freshmen Dyonne Hicks, Kimberly Hammond and Chalisse Lockley set a new school record in the event with a combined time of 1:48.08. The group finished seventh overall in the event.
In the 60m dash preliminaries, Hammond finished 17th overall with a time of 8.10 seconds.
The Mustangs are currently fifth overall in the team standings with 20 points, which is already the highest score at an ECAC Championship in school history. Host Ithaca leads the field with 55 points.
The second and final day of competition takes place on Saturday, March 4. Hammond and Roberts will be competing in the 200m dash, while Hicks and freshman Chloe Almeida will be taking part in the triple jump.
