Hicks Sets School Record, Qualifies for ECAC's in Triple Jump at Susquehanna Invite

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Stevenson women's track and field freshman Dyonne Hicks set a new school record in the triple jump at the Susquehanna University Invitational, held at the James W. Garrett Sports Complex. Hicks' ECAC-qualifying hop, skip and jump of 10.64 meters gave her first-place overall in the event. 

Hicks also set a personal record in the 400m dash with a time of 1:03.87, which gave her seventh place. In the long jump, Hicks' leap of 4.80 meters gave her 11th overall.

Freshman Danika Ani continued her impressive season with a first-place finish in the shot put. Ani's toss of 12.81m gave her the top spot, while sophomore Jess Rega took second with a 12.35. 

Ani took seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 13.04m. 

Freshman Chalisse Lockley clocked an 8.37 in the 60m dash prelimaries to take 12th overall. Lockley also picked up a 12th-place finish in the 200m dash with a time of 28.63. 

Sophomore Laura Bowen ran a 10.73 in the 60m hurdles, while sophomore Mary Sam ran a season-best time of 2:36.37 in the 800. 

In the high jump, freshman Chloe Almeida's leap of 1.48m gave her 10th overall. 

The Mustangs compete next at the Middle Atlantic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Lehigh University, on Friday, February 24 and Saturday, February 25.
