HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Stevenson women's tennis team picked up its second win of the spring season and third overall as they defeated the St. Louis College of Pharmacy by a 7-2 score at the Evian Tennis Center.
Juniors Jenna Skove and Kelsi Mentzer opened things up with a thriling 8-7 (7-0) win in No. 1 doubles, improving their record to 4-4 on the year. Senior Kirstyn Davidson and sophomore Megan Waskiewicz improved their doubles record to 5-3 after defeating their No. 2 opponents by an 8-4 score, while junior Nina Bretz and sophomore Esha Kashmiri won their No. 3 match by an 8-6 margin.
Davidson picked up a straight-set victory in No. 2 singles, 6-1, 7-5, improving her record to 5-5 on the year.
Waskiewicz and Bretz were dominant in their No. 3 and 4 singles matches, with both players cruising to 6-0, 6-1 triumphs. Waskiewicz improved her record to 5-4, while Bretz moves up to 4-4 on the season.
Freshman Jacquelyn Nesbeth picked up her second career victory after taking down her No. 5 opponent in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4.
The Mustangs' next match takes place on Wednesday, March 20 at 5:30 p.m. when they take on Virginia Wesleyan at the Evian Tennis Center.
