Skove Leads Mustangs in 5-4 Loss to Marietta

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Sophomore Jenna Skove picked up wins in both doubles and singles in Stevenson's 5-4 loss to Marietta (Ohio) at the Palmetto Dunes Tennis Club. Skove teamed up with sophomore Kelsi Mentzer in their 8-3 win in No. 1 doubles. Skove would later win her second singles match of the spring, taking down her No. 1 opponent in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0.

In No. 2 doubles, junior Kirstyn Davidson and freshman Megan Waskiewicz dropped a hard-fought match by a score of 8-6.

Later in the day, Davidson won her No. 2 singles match in straight sets by a 6-3, 6-1 margin, while Waskiewicz picked up her second-straight win in No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-3. 

Mentzer, junior Christina Endy and freshman Esha Kashmiri each dropped their singles matches in straight sets. 

Endy and sophomore Nina Bretz fell in their No. 3 doubles match by an 8-3 score. 

The Mustangs (1-6) conclude their spring break trip against Montreat College on Friday, March 16.
