Mustangs Fall in Spring Opener to Salisbury, 9-0

SALISBURY, Md. - The Stevenson women's tennis team opened its spring campaign with a 9-0 non-conference loss to host Salisbury.

Freshman Megan Waskiewicz and junior Kirstyn Davidson kicked off the match with a hard-fought 8-6 defeat in No. 2 doubles. Sophomores Kelsi Mentzer and Jenna Skove fell in No. 1 doubles by an 8-2 score.

Skove took the first set of her No. 1 singles match to a tiebreaker, but would eventually fall in straight sets by 7-6 (7-1), 6-3 margin. 

Davidson also lost a first set tiebreak in her No. 2 singles match before falling in straight sets.

The Mustangs (1-4) compete next when they head to Hilton, S.C. for a spring break match against Illinois Wesleyan on Tuesday, March 13.
