WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Sophomores Kelsi Mentzer and Jenna Skove advanced to the finals in No. 1 doubles for the second-straight season at the MAC Individual Championships, but would eventually fall in the finals to top-seeded Wilkes.
Mentzer and Skove took down second-seeded Cassandra Noray and Amanda Phillips of Alvernia by an 8-5 score to advance to the finals. In the finals, however, the duo would come up short against top-seeded Jordan Vasarkovy and Dana Saliyev of Wilkes by a score of 8-1.
Skove and Mentzer's doubles record now stands at 4-6 heading into the spring season.
Freshman Rebecca Connelly, who advanced to the No. 7 singles semifinals on Saturday, fell in her match to Sarah Malone of Wilkes in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1.
Wilkes went on to win 10 of the 11 titles. Messiah won the other in No. 5 singles.
