Women's Tennis Sweeps Host Trinity (D.C.), 9-0

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In its final match before the MAC Individual Championships, the Stevenson women's tennis team picked up its first victory of the year over host Trinity (D.C.) by a 9-0 score.

The duo of sophomores Jenna Skove and Kelsi Mentzer swept their opponents in No. 1 doubles by an 8-0 to give them their first doubles victory on the year. Juniors Christina Endy and Kirstyn Davidson evened up their doubles record to 2-2 after dominating their No. 2 opponents by an 8-0 score. Sophomore Nina Bretz and freshman Megan Waskiewicz took down their No. 3 doubles opponents by the same 8-0 score. 

Mentzer opened up individual play with an 8-1 victory in No. 1 singles to improve her record to 3-4 on the fall season. 

Waskiewicz picked up her third win of the year with an 8-0 triumph in No. 2 singles, while Bretz swept her No. 3 opponent to win her first match of the season.

Freshmen Rebecca Connelly, Esha Kashmiri and sophomore Aliyah Johnson each swept their opponents to pick up their first career singles victories.

The Mustangs (1-3) conclude their fall season when they compete in the two-day Middle Atlantic Conference Individual Championships, starting on Saturday, October 14.
