Mentzer Picks Up Lone Victory for Mustangs in 8-1 Loss to Franciscan

STEVENSON, MD. - The Stevenson women's tennis team fell in its non-conference home match to Franciscan by an 8-1 score at the Greenspring courts.

The lone victory for the Mustangs came from sophomore Kelsi Mentzer, who picked up her seventh career individual win by a 6-1, 1-6, 6-4 score in No. 3 singles.

Sophomore Jenna Skove fell in her No. 1 singles match in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5, while junior Kirstyn Davidson dropped her No. 2 match, 6-4, 6-1.

Freshman Taelor Brown had a one-set advantage in her match, but would go on to fall in the remaining two for a 2-6, 6-1, 6-3 defeat in No. 6 singles.

Stevenson (0-2, 0-0) competes next in the three-day ITA Regional Tournament, hosted by Mary Washington starting on Friday, September 22 through Sunday, September 24.
