Women's Tennis Drops Season Opener to Catholic, 7-2

STEVENSON, Md. - The Stevenson women's tennis team dropped its fall season opener to visiting Catholic by a 7-2 score at the Greenspring Tennis Courts.

Juniors Kirstyn Davidson and Christina Endy picked up the first win for the Mustangs in an 8-6 triumph in No. 2 doubles. 

Davidson and Endy would later their drop their singles matches by scores of 6-3, 6-2 and 6-1, 7-5. 

The other win for Stevenson came from freshman Megan Waskiewicz who won a third set tie-breaker to take the match, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7).

Sophomores Jenna Skove and Kelsi Mentzer picked up four games in their No. 1 doubles match, but would fall by an 8-4 score. Waskiewicz and sophomore Nina Bretz would lose by the same 8-4 score in their No. 3 doubles match. 

The Mustangs compete next in a home match against Franciscan on Saturday, September 16 at 10:00 am.
