OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Junior Melanie Milam picked up three victories and set a new school record in the 100-Yard Individual Medley in the Stevenson women's swimming teams' 113-85 dual meet victory over Lebanon Valley, at the McDonogh School. Milam's time of 1:04.22 in the 100 IM, which gave her first overall, surpassed the previous record by 1.02 seconds. Freshman Emily Wolff took third in the event with a 1:08.77.
The win gives the Mustangs two dual meet victories on the season.
Milam also took first in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:04.13, while junior Bailey Hurt (1:08.18) and senior Natalie Wasicko (1:08.93) finished second and third overall. Milam's other win came in the 1000 Free where she clocked a 11:41.08, defeating her opponent by over 14 seconds.
Senior Isabelle Ramsland picked up the first of her two victories in the 200 Free, where she touched the wall in 2:09.03. Hurt placed second in the race with a 2:14.68. Ramsland would later win the 100 Fly with a 1:02.85, while senior Julianna Burnett took second with a 1:03.69. Ramsland almost won her third race of the day, but was just beaten out by .12 seconds with a time of 5:41.02 in the 500 Free.
Burnett won the 100 Breaststroke by 3.08 seconds over second-place Courtney Betsock of Lebanon Valley with a time of 1:12.10.
Stein, Burnett, Wolff and Wasicko kicked off the day with a dominating victory in the 200 Medley Relay, taking the race by over 11 seconds with a time of 1:57.74.
In the 50 Free, Stein (26.28), Wasicko (27.06) and Pflieger (27.96) finished second, third and fifth.
The Mustangs do not compete again until Friday, January 18 when they travel to Messiah for a dual meet. The meet is set to begin at 6:00 p.m.
