Burnett Wins Two Events in Dual Meet Loss to Messiah

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Stevenson women's swimming team dropped its home meet to MAC opponent Messiah by a score of 133-103. Junior Julianna Burnett picked up two event victories in the defeat.

Burnett's first victory came in the 100-Yard Breaststroke where she clocked a 1:09.73. Burnett's other win came in the 200 Breaststroke where she touched the wall in 2:37.13.

Sophomore Julia Charen picked up the other individual victory for the Mustangs in the 200 Free with a time of 2:08.31. Junior Natalie Wasicko took second in the event with a 2:10.07.

In the 200 Medley Relay, juniors Colby Stein, Isabelle Ramsland, sophomore Melanie Milam and Burnett took first overall with a combined time of 1:53.24. 

Stein also placed second in both the 100 Backstroke and 50 Freestyle with times of 1:02.92 and 26.93. 

Ramsland took second overall in the 100 and 200 Fly with times of 1:03.73 and 2:20.68. 

Charen picked up a second-place finish in the 500 Free with a 5:46.42. 

The Mustangs compete next when they host Gallaudet on Saturday, January 20 at 2:30 pm.
