Mustangs Win Eight Events in Dual-Meet Victory Over Wilkes

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Stevenson women's swimming team picked up eight event victories in its 104-61 dual-meet win over host Wilkes. Junior Colby Stein led the way for the Mustangs with two first-place finishes.

In the 50 Yard Freestyle, Stein squeezed out a win over junior Julianna Burnett by .19 seconds with a 26.39.

Stein's other win came in the 200-Yard Backstroke with a 2:20.41, while sophomore Melanie Milam took second in the event with a 2:22.24.

Burnett touched the wall first in the 100 Free with a 59.44. Junior Natalie Wasicko finished second with a 1:00.47.

Milam won the 200 IM by 7.31 seconds with a time of 2:24.70, while sophomore Julia Charen finished just .01 seconds out of second place with a 2:32.02.

Charen won the 500 Free by over 15 seconds with a time of 5:51.19. 

Junior Izzy Ramsland overtook her opponent in the 200 Fly by 10 seconds with a 2:28.81. Sophomore Bailey Hurt, who was the lone competitor in the event, swam a 12:14.01 in the 1000 Free.

Junior Lindsay Weishaar, Burnett, Ramsland and Burnett combined to win the 200 Medley Relay in 2:02.94.

The Mustangs compete next in a tri-meet against Dickinson and host Lycoming on Saturday, November 4 at 1:00 pm.
