Women's Swimming Defeats Hood, Falls to Frostburg State, Goucher in Quad Meet

BALTIMORE, MD. - The Stevenson women's swim team picked up a win over Hood, but fell to Goucher and Frostburg State in a quad meet held at the McDonogh School. The Mustangs defeated Hood by a 122-43 score and fell to Frostburg and Goucher by scores of 129-73 and 114-85.

Juniors Colby Stein, Julianna Burnett, Isabelle Ramsland and sophomore Julia Charen opened up the meet with a win in the 200-Yard Medley relay with a time of 1:54.94.

Burnett followed that up with a victory in the 200 Yard IM with a time of 2:19.99, which was 3.44 seconds faster than Maddie Weinberger of Frostburg State. Burnett also picked up a second-place finish in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:10.23.

Ramsland picked up a victory in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:03.63, which was over four seconds better than second-place Elizabeth Myers of Frostburg State. Ramsland would later take third in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a 5:47.96.

Stein won the 100 Yard Backstroke by over two seconds with a time of 1:01.39. Stein also picked up a third-place finish in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a 26.20. 

Freshman Megan Taylor, sophomore Bailey Hurt, and juniors Natalie Wasicko and Lindsay Weishaar closed out the day for the Mustangs with a third-place finish in the 200 Free Relay with a combined time of 1:54.71. 

The Mustangs compete next in a dual meet at Wilkes on Saturday, October 28 at 1:00 pm.
