Caffrey Finishes with 10 Saves, Mustangs Fall at DeSales

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - For the third time this season and third in the last four games, Stevenson women's soccer junior Keegan Caffrey made at least 10 saves, but DeSales scored the game's lone goal to escape with a 1-0 non-conference victory Saturday afternoon.

  • The Bulldogs (6-2-0) recorded the first seven shots of the contest but just one was on frame with another two blocked by the defense.
  • Stevenson recorded its first shot of the game in the 17th minute as a shot by junior Melanie Parncutt missed high to the right.
  • In the 24th minute, Vanessa Atie fired a shot off the left post before Caffrey made her second stop of the day about a minute later.
  • Junior Gabrielle Arters had her shot off a free kick blocked before senior Brianna Christie saw the same result following her 28th minute shot.
  • DeSales took a 1-0 lead in the 36th minute as Allie Trick scored her team leading seventh goal of the season.
  • The hosts kept the pressure on as Caffrey was forced to come up with another save just one minute after the goal.

  • Just four minutes into the second half, the Bulldogs fired a shot off the left post before getting another shot off the rebound that Caffrey saved.
  • The Mustangs (1-5-1) put their first shot of the game on frame in the 57th minute from sophomore Jessica Kern.
  • Stevenson recorded three shots in the half, with the other two off frame.

  • DeSales outshot Stevenson, 24-8, including 11-1 with shots on goal.
  • The Bulldogs also held a 10-2 edge in corner kicks.
