ASHLAND, Va. - Sophomore Casey Oppenheimer leads the field after carding a nine-over par 80 in the opening of the Randolph-Macon Invitational, held at the Hanover Country Club. Oppenheimer, who has already picked up two tournament victories on the year, leads second-place Natalie Hill of Shenandoah by two strokes. The Mustangs (343) lead second-place Shenandoah and Pfeiffer University by 16 strokes.
Senior Julia Kline is tied for fourth on the leaderboard after shooting an 86 (+15) to open up the two-day tournament. Sophomore Amanda Perez sits just a stroke back of Kline and tied for seventh overall.
The Mustangs will look for their third team victory on the year when the second and final round begins on Sunday, September 29.
