ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Stevenson women's golf sophomore duo of Laura Rentz and Emma VanDeCar were named to the Academic All-MAC Women's Golf Team announced by the league on Wednesday. They were two of 12 individuals named to the team.
The Spring Academic All-MAC teams recognize the top student-athletes both in the classroom and on the field during the 2019 spring semester. The MAC sports information directors nominate and vote on the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight on both academic success and athletic success.
Rentz, an All-MAC First Team selection, ranked second on the team with an 83.83 average. She posted seven top-five finishes and led the team with three individual wins. Rentz shot a career-low 78, four times, including in the second round of the MAC Championships to finish in fourth place.
VanDeCar, an All-MAC Second Team selection, ranked third on the team with an 85.13 average. She posted six top-five finishes and finished the season with four top-seven performances. VanDeCar recorded a career-best 77, twice, including in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
