Perez Leads Women's Golf to First Place at Millersville Invitational

QUARRYVILLE, Pa. - Freshman Amanda Perez finished second overall and fired a personal-best score of 78 (+6) in leading the Stevenson women's golf team to first place overall at the Millersville Invitational, held at the Tanglewood Manor Golf Club. The Mustangs, who have two team victories on the season, won the tournament by 18 strokes over host Millersville with a score of 330. 

Sophomore Laura Rentz finished just two strokes back of Perez with an 80 to take third overall, while sophomore Emma VanDeCar finished tied for seventh with an 85.

Junior Julia Kline carded an 87 to round out the team score for Stevenson. 

Sophomore Elise Glauser finished tied for 20th with a 93. 

Yupha Muzyka of Alvernia won the individual title by one stroke over Perez with a 77. 

The Mustangs compete next at the two-day Shenandoah Greene Turtle Invitational, held at the Shenandoah Valley Golf Club, starting on Saturday, October 6. Tee time is set for 12 pm.
