Williams Takes Third in 100, 4x100 Sets School Record at ECAC Championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Stevenson men's track and field sophomore Devonte Williams took third place overall in the 100-meter dash finals with a time of 10.84 seconds on Friday at the 2015 ECAC Outdoor Championships hosted by Springfield College.

Prior to the 100-meter finals, Williams and the 4x100-meter relay team of juniors Dalonte Simpson, Garrett Pegg and senior Shane Skyers set a new school record in the event with a time of 43.47, shattering their previous mark by .19 seconds.

Brockport State won the team standings with 72 points while Middle Atlantic Conference rival Widener took second with 59 points. The Mustangs finished in a tie for 33rd with six points.

Williams will be looking to compete in the 200-meter dash at the 2015 NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships for a second year in-a-row May 21-23. His time of 21.41second  is currently tied for the eighth-fastest in Division III.
