CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Stevenson University men's track and field sophomore Tevin Bailey repeated as the Middle Atlantic Conference high jump champion on day two of the 2017 MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships being held at DeSales University. Through seven events, the Mustangs stand fifth overall with 33 points.
Bailey, who also won the event in each of the past two indoor championships, posted a leap of 1.93 meters toedge Olutobi Olugbenga of Misericordia. Steven Sneed finished fifth for the Mustangs with a 1.75 meter jump.
Bailey also finished sixth in the long jump with a 6.52-meter leap. Senior Quenlan Dunn placed eighth at 6.39 meters.
Curtis McInnis placed seventh overall in the hammer throw with a toss of 38.40 meters. Nikita Kulick picked up a point for the Mustangs with his eighth place finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase at 10:20.73.
Senior Devonte Williams qualified for the finals in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes as the top qualifier in both events, posting a 10.80 in the 100 and a 21.92 in the 200. The 4x100 relay team of Williams, Matt Riggins, Aaron Holliday and Tylor Bailey also qualified first with a 42.68 second effort.
Freshman Iddriss Iddriss qualified for the 800 meter final in third, posting a time of 1:58.35. Dunn qualified for the final in the 110 hurdles with a 16.45 second mark. Colin Horne checked in with a 51.85 second time in the 400 to reach Saturday's final.
Cooper Smelski finished third in the decathlong with after finishing first in the pole vault with a 3.68 meter effort and third in the 1500.
The MAC Outdoor Track Championship concludes Saturday.
