WINCHESTER, Va. - Junior Dereck Davis clocked a school-record time of 6.81 seconds in the 60m dash finals to take first overall in the event at the Wilkins Center Invitational, hosted by Shenandoah University. Davis' record-breaking performance is currently tops in all of Division III, and is also the fastest time in MAC history. Freshman Cameron Summers (7.11), junior Clement Onyebadi (7.12) and freshman Jeremiah Williams (7.21) placed sixth, seventh and eighth in the event.
Freshman Damani Jones set a new school mark in the 60m hurdles with a finals time of 8.45 seconds, giving him second overall. Jones' time is currently the fastest in the Mideast region and tied for 19th in Division III.
The Mustangs finished fifth out of eight schools with 57 points.
In the 200m dash, Summers picked up a second-place finish with a 23.27.
Onyebadi placed second in the high jump with a top height of 1.90m, while also picking up third in the long jump of 5.96m.
Freshman Samuel Iseman made his collegiate debut in the mile with a 4:47.78, giving him fifth out of 19 runners.
Stevenson competes next in the Gotham Cup, held at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in New York City, N.Y., on Friday, January 17.
