ANNVILLE, Pa. - Junior Ray McDermott and senior Drew Ryan of the Stevenson University men's tennis team were each named to the Middle Atlantic Conference All-Academic Team on Wednesday.  Stevenson was one of two programs with multiple members of the team.

The MAC sports information directors nominate and vote for the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight on both academic success and athletic success. A student-athlete must have a spring semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.

McDermott, a Digital Marketing major, was the MAC Commonwealth Player of the Year as he led the Mustangs to their first-ever MAC Commonwealth title and NCAA appearance.  He posted a 10-7 overall singles record at No. 1, including 5-1 in conference action, and went 6-0 in MAC Commonwealth play in doubles and 13-8 overall.

Ryan, a Business Administration major with a Sport Management track, was also a MAC Commonwealth First Team All-Conference performer.  Ryan went 15-4 in singles play, primarily at No. 3, and notched a 6-0 MAC Commonwealth mark in doubles and was 14-6 overall.
