Doug Rose Signs Professional Contract With Macon Mayhem

MACON, Ga. - Stevenson men's ice hockey senior Doug Rose became the third Mustang in the last week to sign a professional hockey contract as Rose signed with the Macon Mayhem of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) on Friday.

The SPHL is a professional ice hockey league based in Huntersville, North Carolina, with teams located primarily in the southeastern United States. The Mayhem are one of 10 teams in the league and are based in Macon, Alabama and currently sit in fourth place in the SPHL with 55 points.

Rose has played in two games for the Mayhem, posting a +1 rating and two shots in his second career appearance.

Rose was one of three players to play in all 52 games at Stevenson and totaled 28 points on defense on nine goals and 19 assists. A three-time all-conference honoree in his career, Rose was a two-time all-conference winner this season, earning First Team honors in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) while being named to the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) Second Team.
