Jacob Caffrey Named MAC Defensive Player of the Week

ANNVILLE, Pa. - For the third time this season and first since November 13, Stevenson men's ice hockey senior Jacob Caffrey was named the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Defensive Player of the Week announced by the league on Monday.

It is the fourth weekly honor in Caffrey's career with the Mustangs totaling seven player of the week honors in the MAC this season. Seniors Doug Rose, Jordan Watt and Mike Davis as well as sophomore Nick Gray have all earnedOffensive Player of the Week honors this season.

Caffrey stopped 35 of 37 shots in a 2-2 overtime tie at Elmira, who is in the receiving votes column in the D3hockey.com Top 15 Poll. The seniors made a combined 12 saves over the third period and overtime.

Stevenson returns to action on Friday, February 9 when the Mustangs host a UCHC contest versus 10th-ranked Utica. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
