ANNVILLE, Pa. - After recording three points on two goals and one assists in a pair of wins over the weekend, Stevenson men's ice hockey sophomore Nick Gray was named the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Offensive Player of the Week announced by the league on Monday.
It is the fourth different player for the Mustangs (9-6-6) this season that has been named the offensive player of the week and first since November 13. Seniors Doug Rose, Jordan Watt and Mike Davis all earned the honor in the opening three weeks of the season.
Gray opened the weekend scoring the game's first goal in a 3-1 victory over King's (Pa.), with the goal coming on the power play. He responded the next day by scoring the game-winning goal, also on the power play, late in the third period to defeat Manhattanville, 4-3, and claim the conference's inaugural title. Gray also dished out an assist in the championship winning effort. He now has 13 points in his last nine games.
Stevenson returns to action on Saturday, February 3 when the Mustangs travel to Elmira for a United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) contest beginning at 7:00 p.m.
