ROCHESTER, N.Y. - After totaling three points in two games last weekend, Stevenson men's ice hockey freshman Carl Lyden was named the United Collegiate Hockey Conference Rookie of the Week announced by the league on Tuesday.
It is the second rookie of the week honor for the Mustangs after freshman Houston Wilson earned the honor on November 7. It is the fourth weekly honor in the UCHC for the team after senior Jordan Watt was named player of the week on November 7 and senior Jacob Caffrey was named goalie of the week on November 14.
Lyden scored a power play goal in a 2-2 overtime tie versus Lebanon Valley on Friday before recording a goal and an assist in the team's win over Chatham. The rookie has a five-game point streak and a point in six of his last seven games. During that seven-game stretch, Lyden has nine points on three goals and six assists.
Stevenson returns to action on Friday, January 26 when the Mustangs host a UCHC and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) contest versus King's (Pa.). Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
