Host Mustangs Win Stevenson Fall Invite, Maione Finishes Tied for Second

UPPERCO, Md. - The Stevenson men's golf team picked up its second team title of the year by taking first overall at the Stevenson Fall Invitational, held at the Piney Branch Golf Club. The host Mustangs, who won the tournament by eight strokes over Hood with a team score of 301 (+17), had four players finish in the top six.

Senior Matthew Maione matched his season-best with a 74 (+3) to finish tied for third overall, giving him his first top-five finish of the year.

Sophomore Will Ford and senior Matthew Shur both carded 75's to finish tied for fourth overall, giving Ford three top-five's this fall. 

Senior Tyler Slusarczyk completed the team score for Stevenson with a 77 and sixth-place finish.

Freshman Frank Sallese, who competed on Stevenson's "B" team, finished tied for ninth after notching a season-best eight-over par 79.

Freshmen Ronak Patel and Joshua Brauer carded scores of 86 and 87, while senior Wynn Geis and Leonard Lenahan both finished the day with scores of 90 for the "B" team.

The Mustangs continue their fall season on Monday, October 14 when they head to the Franklin and Marshall Fall Invitational, held at the Bent Creek Country Club. Tee time is set for 12:00 p.m.
