BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - Junior Cam Harris led four Stevenson University players in double figures with 20 points, but the Mustangs were turned back by Sarah Lawrence 87-82 in non-conference men's basketball Sunday afternoon at the Campbell Sports Center.

  • Sarah Lawrence (4-2) jumped out to an 8-0 lead just 1:37 into the contest.
  • A three by Kyle Wooldridge with 17:53 on the clock got the Mustangs (3-4) on the board.
  • The Gryphons extended their lead to 18-3 on a Chris Torres three with just over 15 minutes to go in the first half.
  • An 11-0 Stevenson run capped by a three by Norman Hughes cut Sarah Lawrence's lead to 18-14 at the 12:18 mark.
  • After the hosts pushed the lead back to 12, 30-18, eight straight points by the Mustangs closed the gap to four once again, 30-26, with 7:24 on the clock on an Evan Joseph three.
  • Sarah Lawrence held the Mustangs without a field goal for over six minutes, extending the lead to 16, 45-29.
  • A Hughes three with 1:11 left snapped the field goal drought.
  • Jaylin Johnson beat the buzzer with a three-pointer to cut the lead to 11, 47-36, at intermission.

  • An 8-4 spurt to open the second period by the Mustangs made it a seven-point game,51-44, with 17:03 left on a putback by Joseph.
  • Sarah Lawrence countered with an 8-1 run to open up a 14-point cushion, 59-45, with just under 14 minutes to go.

  • Stevenson outrebounded its opponent for the seventh straight game to open the season, finishing with a 34-33 advantage.
