Button joins the Mustangs athletic staff for her first year in 2013-14. She comes to Stevenson University with over 18 years of business background with ten years in a University system.
Prior to coming to Stevenson, Melissa worked at UMBC from 2007-13, where she served as the Business Manager of UMBC’s Albin O. Kuhn Library & Gallery where she was responsible for the business operations of all of the Library’s financial accounts including library procurements, contracts, and payroll for 60+ staff members plus 100+ student assistants.
Between 2005-07, Melissa served as the Senior Accountant at the College of Public Health at the University of South Florida, located in Tampa, Florida. As Senior Accountant, she was responsible for supervising the College’s Federal and State grant submittals, budget and expenditures compliance, as well as administrative reporting.
Prior to working at USF, Melissa worked as the Program Assistant at the University of Alaska Anchorage from 2002-05. She assisted in the launch of UAA’s new Masters of Social Work Distance Program while also helping to establish the business accounting, budgeting, and reporting practices of the program in its initial years.
Melissa is a 2005 graduate of University of Alaska Anchorage with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.
A native of Joppatowne, Maryland, Button now resides in Eldersburg, with her husband Randy and their three daughters.
